Endless Ocean:

This game is only priced at 30 bucks. And we can’t say no to cheap games. Its a simple idea. You’ll swim around the ocean, taking pictures of unique sea life. It sounds interesting….but is it entertaining.

Nitro Bike:

WE WANT ONLINE GAMES! It would have been nice if Excite Truck was online. But since we can’t have that right now, we’ll take a look at the next best thing. Nitro Bike, picture Excite Truck with Motorcycles. And with online play!

Bully:

You know, its nice to see Wii get support from Rockstar. If you didn’t like Rockstar’s Table Tennis (and who could blame you). Then why not try a game that actually did well. Bully, is an interactive, free roaming, adventure. And if your looking for something with a lot of depth, then Bully might be right up your ally.

No More Heroes:

If your looking for a game with intense action, and a mature feel. Then chances are you waiting for No More Heroes. You’ll play as a guy who owns a Lightsaber type weapon, and you’ll be placed in a city. Where your objective is to take out the top 10 hit men in it, so you can be the #1 Hitman. Keep in mind, this game is going to be rated M, and a hard M too. Its pretty violent. And it has an interesting cartoon look, using cell shaded graphics.

Super Smash Bros Brawl:

Its sad that if it wasn’t for the delay, we would have been playing Smash Bros Brawl….Today. Every one and their mom is waiting for the release. Its probably the reason many gamers bought a Wii. Smash Bros will finally offer online play! Its what we have waited for since the Mellee release years ago.

Dragon Quest Swords:

Even if you aren’t a fan of Dragon Quest, you may still take an interest in this game. You’ll play this RPG, in first person, swinging the Wii mote and a sword and a shield. Taking you through the world of Dragon Quest once again.

Wii Fit:

This is going to sell like crazy in Japan. And I am sure we will see it make headlines here in the US. I can see it now on talk shows every where. If the Wii didn’t appeal to the non-gamer crowed enough….it sure does now. Who doesn’t want to stay healthy and have fun while doing it?

Mario Kart Wii:

Its truly a gift from Nintendo when we get Smash Bros AND Mario Kart, in the SAME YEAR. Of course this installment will be online. And include a pack in. It will come with the “Wii sterring wheel”. And it makes driving in Mario Kart, all the more interactive. So far the only new features we are aware of are: Tricks, Motorcycles, and online play.

Recently Japan was happy enough to receive their copies of Wii Fit. Coming bundled with the Wii fit board, many were eager to get active and loose some weight….while playing video games.

Wii Fit Activities:

• A goalie game involving hitting soccer balls with your head

They sound interesting enough. The bundled will chances are be priced at $70.00 – $80.00.

The game keeps track of how well you do in your activities, and compares them to others in your household.

Every weekday we get a Smash Bros Dojo update, showing us another piece of Brawl we can’t wait to get our hands on. Updates include, Characters, Moves, Items, Stages, Game modes, How to play, Online features, Trailers,Music, and Notices. Its a pretty nice set up. But recently I took a look at some forums. And a many are upset with the recent updates. To be honest, I haven’t been posting them because, I guess I wasn’t impressed with them myself.

The last few weeks all the updates have been Items, Moves, or some thing that we already knew about. I guess many fans are disappointed that we really have not had a ground breaking update in some time. The last character revealed was “King Dedede”. But that was over 3 weeks ago. Since then no other characters have popped up.

Are fans spoiled? Are there not enough characters to reveal until its release? Or are we just being to critical of these updates? These questions are popping up on forums all over the net. And who could blame them, people are curious.

In my opinion, never loose hope. Because you never know when that next BIG update will appear. Who knows….maybe tomorrow.

Resident Evil: the Umbrella Chronicles

Resident Evil is a VERY strong franchise, making some of the best adventure/horror games that have ever been created. Resident Evil 4 blew us away, being one of the best games of all time. We recently got a re-release on the Wii for it. Its work the $30 bucks it goes for. But now that takes us too another game, “the Umbrella Chronicles”.

The Umbrella Chronicles is not like the other Resident Evils, because its a shooter. An On-Rail Shooter. The game moves for you taking you down paths and enemies, while you point, aim, and blast your way through countless numbers of Zombies….and other creepy creatures. The real appeal here is that it takes you through Resident Evil: Zero, 1, and 3. You’ll actually play through those title’s stories….with out the walking around and puzzle solving. So if your a Resident Evil fan, get ready for an experience that will bring back some memories.

Pros:

Using the Wii remote as a gun is fun, and its even better when your using it to blow away zombies….or what ever you would like to call them. It may sound “boring” or “too restrictive” because its an on-rail shooter. But believe it or not, it feels quiet nice to just sit back….and shoot. Not only that, you’ll collect TONS of items, and hidden journals that tell you the deeper parts of the story. Plus you can choose different paths to take at times, so going back to a level may have a different feel next time around.

Co-Op, thats where the game gets fun. Having some one there to shoot down enemies makes the experience all the more entertaining. You’ll share a life bar with the other player. So the two of you better be willing to work together. And have a technique for taking down enemies. A lot of times, these quick action sequences appear, asking the player to press a button, shake the remote, or 2 buttons at the same time. It sounds easy, but when it comes out of no where, it can catch you off guard. Especially when there are two people.

the Cons:

Along the way of playing through the game, you’ll unlock side missions. A ton of them actually, each one interesting. Showing you a part of the story you have never seen before in previous games. Like “where was Wesker the whole time”. These are great additions, the downside is, they can only be played with one player. So if you and a buddy have been unlocking all of them, one will have to sit back and wait for the other to finish a side quest.

Also the weapons selection system is a little tricky. When using the Wii remote, you push up and down on the D-pad to cycle through weapons. Its not bad, but sometimes its hard to cycle through so many. The difficult part is using the nunchuck on the “Zapper” to switch weapons. Since the C button cycles through them…only one direction. Another feature that would have been nice is a survival type mode. A mode where you and a buddy can just keep playing to see who can get the most kills, but its no big deal.

conclusion:

To be honest, its fun. Its like being back at the arcade, and at the same time playing the Psone late at night. With a buddy the game is a ton more fun. There are 9 main missions all together, that wont take to long to finish. And a TON of side missions that should keep you amused. The game really has no major flaws for what it is. It offers all that an ON-rail shooter can, and more.

If you enjoy on-rail arcade shooters, love Resident Evil, and/or want to just shoot stuff with the Wii mote, then make sure to check out “the Umbrella Chronicles”.

“Wesker”

No More Heroes looks like a pretty good game to pick up for Wii. But not enough people know about it, why not advertise…..on Toilet paper.  That what Capcom did as you can see.
